First Ever Bill Signing
It’s not often that you get an opportunity to witness history while it happens. And that opportunity happened for us yesterday when Governor Rick Scott signed Senate Bill 844, the Officer Andrew Widman Act, in Fort Myers, Florida at a candlelight vigil hosted by the Fort Myers Police Department to honor fallen police officers.
“It was one of the most moving moments I’ve ever been a part of. We were surrounded by police officers and the families of fallen officers as we lit candles and had a moment of silence to remember and honor the memory of the brave men, women, and K-9 units who gave their lives to protect ours. For my first ever Bill signing, it was pretty amazing!”
- John Donahue, New Media Marketing & A/V Tech

Senate Bill 844 states that “persons who have committed a crime, while on probation or house arrest, that commit a violation of probation, may be held in custody rather than released through bond prior to their probation violation hearing.” It will keep us safer and also protect our brave men and women in blue.
Soundwave was asked to come down by Governor Scott to stage a large banner proclaiming “Promises Made, Promises Kept” to acknowledge not only the passage of Senate Bill 844, but also many of “Candidate” Rick Scott’s promises are being followed through by his administration.
We’ve had a great relationship, and continue to enjoy working with Governor Scott and his staff. They have been a pleasure to work with and work for. It’s been a lot of fun, and we look forward to a long relationship with Florida’s 45th Governor!
As the sun rose over beautiful Ft. Myers, and the American flag waved in the gentle morning breeze, it was a proud moment for Soundwave: for us to be a part of the larger Floridian Community and be a part of history as it happens, when it really matters!

National Sailfish Competition
Soundwave recently worked the World Sailfish Competition in Key West, Florida. It’s not only a fishing competition, but also a fundraiser for several charities in Florida and nationwide.
Each day, after the boats returned from fishing, the boat captains and their teams would assemble for dinner and entertainment inside the main tent located in the center of Malory Square.
“We’ve been very happy with our partnership with the World Sailfish Competition. We’ve been able to provide light, sound, and video for a great organization and also help raise much needed support for some awesome charities!”

Easter at College Hill MB Church
Soundwave has had the privilege of working with several great churches in the Tampa Bay area, but one of our favorites is the Missionary Baptist Church of College Hills. They do amazing work in their community and they serve lunch and dinner to whoever needs some food – it’s truly amazing to watch them minister to the community. And we are proud to work with such a great organization!
You might remember that we helped them with their Christmas production this past holiday season, and when they called us to help with their Easter Musical, we couldn’t say no!
This year the wanted to have some more creative lighting elements, so we brought in our new LED lights and fewer traditional lighting elements like Lekos and Source 4 Par Cans, but the effect was really incredible! They were very pleased with our work and we look forward to Christmas, or any event, they MBoCH would like to have Soundwave at!
